Nyssa/Beo puppies
Note - this page will take a long time to load because of the number of pictures shown. Please be patient, have a cup of coffee while waiting and enjoy! It is worth the wait.
The puppies arrived on Saturday, November 9th, 2002. All six of them were born between 12:30pm and 6pm. We have 4 girls and 2 boys, 3 dark sables and 3 duals.
My beloved Nyssa was bred for the third and most likely final time in October. After that she will enjoy retirement and will focus on obedience, agility, and SAR, of course. Her intended is out of my beloved Phantom line – the Tessa/Bear. I love the temperament and attitudes this line produces along with health and conformation. Beo is son of Phantom’s daughter Ekko and the awesome Gazer.
Here is Nyssa’s information:

Nyssa has good conformation with superb movement. Her only conformation faults are east-west front, smaller size, and snipey head that she has not produced herself. She has beautiful coat, nice angulation, beautiful side
and rear movement, full dentition, and very lovely expression. Overall, she is a very typey and sound girl. Nyssa also has a temperament of a true working shepherd. She is very smart, willing worker, wonderful with people
and dogs, yet protective, and very devoted. She also has nice drives. Her wonderful personality gained her many human and dog friends as well.
She has produced two litters so far with no health problems at all. Two of her pups prelimed OFA good and two looked good per their vets. Two pups out of each litter are in SAR homes and doing extremely well. All of the pups
have great temperaments, ranging from medium soft to medium. They are involved in obedience and several of them in agility as well. Several of the pups live with kids, other dogs, cats, and other critters. One of the girls
from Nyssa’s first litter placed extremely well in 4H conformation and obedience competition with her 10 year old handler. My pick girl Amy from the same litter has achieved her breed championship and is several points
away from ARBA and Rarities championships as well and should become National Select this year.
There is not much information available on Beo. He was intended as companion for his new family and his aunt. His beauty and solid temperament saved him from being neutered. While I would prefer OFA final results and more direct data, his background and potential combined with Nyssa’s proven record will make us proceed with this
breeding. His credentials are excellent. In addition, he is a rare find, unused stud, and a valuable
addition to the gene pool.
Here is information on Beo and his relatives:
Born on January 19, 2001 in PA
Prelimed OFA good at 18 months
Final OFA cardiac clearance
Sire Shenandoah’s StarGazer (Sierra/Orso)
Dam Shenandoah’s Ekko (Snow/Phantom)
This cream dual boy has awesome broad head, heavy exceptional oval bone,
front, strong ears, oversized at 30”coat, movement, and a rock solid
temperament. The few faults he has are a steep croup and straight stifles.
He lives with three small children, his doggy aunt, and frequent visitors.
Beo is calm, dignified dog, friendly with strangers yet watchful and alert.
He is a great companion to his humans. One of his brothers is very
successfully working in Schutzhund. His dad calls him fearless yet kids want
to ride him and everyone wants to be his friend.
His sister is most gentle, loving, playful, smart & gorgeous puppy,
according to her owners. She loves people and kids alike.
This breeding was chosen to produce pups with rock solid temperaments, great conformation, and good health. There is not as much info on Beo’s littermates as I would like and he himself does not have a final OFA rating
yet. His parents are OFA fair but most of his relatives are OFA good. Nyssa herself has solid hips and has not produced any dysplastic/symptomatic pups in two litters. Their combined strengths should produce puppies with good
hips and health in general. We also expect wonderfully stable, outgoing temperaments. They will combine Nyssa’s gentleness and nobility with Phantom’s and Gazer’s spunk. The pups will be very lively, with pizzazz and
ability to do almost anything. I fully expect several excellent working and SAR prospects in this litter as well as terrific companions. All of these pups should be excellent companions to adults and kids alike.
The pups are duals and brown sables. They will be quite large, with beautiful heads, strong fronts and bone, super movement, great toplines, and overall presence and attitude.
This litter has an IC of about 16%, with Trinka/Shep, Captain/Lizzy, and Tessa/Bear lines behind them. It will be 5G MAW breeding. Their bloodlines will make them excellent breeding prospects for future outcrosses.
Several pups might be still available to select homes. All pups are money back guaranteed in writing for health, temperament, and hips for life. They are raised holistically on a mixture of raw food and super premium kibble, all
will be micro chipped, and have health certificates. I will also try to use new OFA service that provides a preliminary heart clearances for litters. And as always, the litter was born and is raised in our family room, in the center of all activity. This assures us that the pups are exposed to humans from birth and will be well socialized
and adjusted.
Here are their pictures and weights.
Day 29 - Beo's family came to visit
Day 29 - puppy owner comes to visit
Day 33 - baby meets puppies again
Jocelyn, Benjamin, and Joseph, my friend Kristine's wonderful kids, own Indy from Nyssa's first litter. They have always taken a strong interest in our puppies and nicknamed each litter. This is Nyssa's third litter so their names should start with 'C'.
